How to Measure

Don't worry — measuring is easier than you think. You just need a soft tape measure and 5 minutes. Shay walks you through exactly what she needs for each product type.

Before you start

  • ✓Use a soft fabric measuring tape — not a metal ruler or a rigid tape
  • ✓Measure over light clothing or directly on skin for the most accurate fit
  • ✓When in doubt, round up — it's easier to take in than to let out

Common questions

What if my child is between sizes?
Always go with the larger measurement. It's much easier for Shay to take in a piece than to let one out. If you're right on the border, just let her know — she'll factor it in when she cuts.
Do I need all these measurements for every product?
Nope. Each product type has its own list above — only send what's listed for the piece you're ordering. When in doubt, more is better, and Shay will tell you if she needs anything else after you text.
My child is hard to measure — any tips?
Measure while they're standing straight (distract them with a show or snack). Wrap the tape snugly but not tight — you should be able to slip one finger underneath. If they won't stay still, ask someone to help hold the tape while you read the number.
